Torah Chef
What the Heck is a "Torah Chef"?
Updated: Mar 30, 2021
First and foremost, this site is for anyone that appreciates a great recipe, or looking for new ideas in the kitchen. That said, the food and recipes I share are interpreted as clean, from Torah and the 66 books of canon in the Bible. Not Oral law (Talmud), Roman, or any other "interpretation" of Gods Law. I don't use the word "Kosher" because it means different things to different people. Simply Biblically "clean".
So. what does that mean? It means you wont see pork, shellfish and various other critters on my menus and recipes. Leviticus 11 is the main part of scripture that tells us what is food. and what is not, and it's echoed in Deuteronomy 14. There's a bit more scattered throughout the scriptures, but one thing to keep in mind is that the word of God is permanent and immutable, and all other scripture is to be seen through the lens of his laws (Torah). Our Messiah -Jesus Christ, or as I call him more closely to his Hebrew name Yeshua, was a teacher of Torah, and walked it out perfectly.
So whether you are a person of faith, not of faith, or a different faith, have a different interpretation of scripture, etc are all welcome to enjoy and share my recipes. If you find something that conflicts with your faith or interpretation, then you're welcome to adapt, or find another recipe that works for you.
Ultimately this is a project to ease the stress of pursuing clean eating, and more recently a way to help better serve our community through a food ministry. Ultimately its a project of love and serving my neighbors
Thanks for looking and I hope you all enjoy the content!
Shalom!
